Working with Garfinkel + Associates, we’ve designed plenary presentation decks for the last three Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) annual meetings.
The APHL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization representing governmental laboratories that monitor and detect public health threats, including emerging infectious disease surveillance, detection of metabolic and genetic conditions in newborns, water contamination identification and foodborne outbreak detection. Its mission is to shape national and global health outcomes by promoting the value and contributions of public health laboratories and by continuously improving the public health laboratory system and practice.
Every year APHL Executive Director Scott Becker speaks on a big health issue. This year’s session addressed the global response to major emerging threats and focused on initiatives to rebuild the laboratory system post Ebola in Sierra Leone, as well as specific actions to mount an effective response to Zika virus in the United States.
Our partner Garfinkel + Associates worked with APHL to craft the script, and as a collective we concepted and illustrated artwork to bring those ideas to life in an engaging and highly visual presentation—taking APHL’s powerful story well beyond bullet points.
